LOS ANGELES – Candidate for Los Angeles County District Attorney John McKinney today announced the support of Democrats for Israel—Los Angeles (DFI-LA), a grassroots organization dedicated to fighting antisemitism and hosting educational and cultural events in support of Israel and Los Angeles’ Jewish community. DFI-LA has a long history of engaging in local and state politics and supports elected officials and candidates who support Israel and combat hate.
“The Los Angeles Jewish community is diverse, unique, and one that has contributed greatly to the rich tapestry and culture of our region,” said McKinney. “I’m proud to have received the support of DFI-LA and will continue to work with this organization and others to promote tolerance, combat hatred, and ensure all communities can peacefully practice their faith. Everyone should have the assurance that the DA’s office is working in their best interests and to protect their rights.”
Founded in 1990, DFI-LA serves as a bridge between the Democratic Party and the Jewish Pro-Israel community. The organization is known for its robust educational and outreach efforts, and for cultivating relationships with other organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area that represent diverse communities and interests. DFI boasts a board of veteran political leaders, including executive board president Gregg Solkovits, a 35+ year LAUSD high school Social Studies, Journalism and English teacher, and a former Secondary Vice President for United Teachers Los Angeles.
McKinney, a veteran prosecutor with over 25 years’ experience, continues to receive support from notable and influential organizations.
The support of DFI-LA marks the third week in a row McKinney has received major backing, highlighting a momentous December for the candidate and reinforces his position as a frontrunner in the crowded race for district attorney.
