Central City Association of Los Angeles Endorses John McKinney for Los Angeles City Attorney
May 7, 2026
LOS ANGELES, Calif — The Central City Association of Los Angeles (CCA)—a premier advocacy organization dedicated to enhancing Downtown Los Angeles’ vibrancy and economic development—today announced its endorsement of Deputy District Attorney John McKinney for Los Angeles City Attorney.
“Today’s endorsement by CCA reflects the growing momentum of my campaign, which includes a broad-based coalition of law enforcement, business, and community leaders who want change in the City Attorney’s Office,” McKinney said. “I am honored to have earned the trust and support of an organization dedicated to the economic revitalization of Los Angeles.”
CCA represents more than 300 businesses, nonprofits, and trade associations and is a leading public-policy voice for a more livable and economically robust city.
“Public safety is the foundation of a strong economy, but a successful City Attorney goes far beyond enforcement — it’s about taking an active role in shaping the future of Los Angeles,” said Nella McOsker, President and CEO of CCA. “Angelenos deserve a City Attorney who will improve our quality of life by keeping our neighborhoods safe, our streets clean, and our communities buzzing with activity. At a time when Los Angeles faces rising challenges and costly legal liabilities, we need someone who will protect our resources and move our city forward.”
CCA joins a growing list of endorsers of McKinney’s campaign for Los Angeles City Attorney. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) and District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced their endorsements during a major press conference in Los Angeles. Earlier this spring, former District Attorneys Jackie Lacey and Steve Cooley also endorsed McKinney.
